 American India Foundation (AIF)

The American India Foundation is an organization powered by connection, community, and the commitment to creating social change in India. Originally created in 2001 following the devastating earthquake in Gujarat, AIF’s focus today is on improving the lives of the underprivileged in India through education, livelihoods, and public health. The organization functions as a cross-collaboration between both Indians and Americans, creating a trusted bridge of civic involvement between these two societies.

Our presenter, Anupam Shukla, is the Director of Learning, Evaluation & Impact at AIF. She has over 17 years of experience in various critical areas, including women’s agency, migration, maternal and child health, education, reproductive health (PRH), livelihoods, and HIV/AIDS within India. Proficient in designing Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks and conducting comprehensive evaluations, Anupam excels in synthesizing evidence for learning initiatives in projects, portfolio strategy development, and executing research studies. She holds dual master’s degrees in Population Studies from the esteemed International Institute of Population Sciences (IIPS, Mumbai) and Health Management from the renowned Institute of Health Management Research (IHMR, Jaipur). Strongly driven by a personal mission to improve ROI in MERL, Anupam is passionate about making evidence accessible, palatable, simple, and usable by all.

In this webinar, Anupam will show attendees how AIF uses SurveyCTO to track mothers and newborns over time in their Maternal and Newborn Survival Initiative (Mansi) program. Working with tribal communities and vulnerable populations, AIF provides healthcare for pregnant women during pregnancy and after birth. They also provide care to the women’s babies. Mansi has supported almost 800,000 mothers and newborns since its inception in 2019.
