The World Bank’s Development Impact department has a mission to generate high-quality and operationally relevant data and research to transform development policy, help reduce extreme poverty, and secure shared prosperity.
With a presence in more than 60 countries, the Development Impact department has conducted over 200 impact evaluations, shaping $26B in development finance, and provided advisory services to over 30 multilateral and bilateral agencies.
Beyond research, the Development Impact group’s commitment extends to investing in public goods to enhance the quality and reproducibility of global development research.
Presenter Marina Visintini is a Data Science and Data Ecosystems Consultant at World Bank. With a background in human-centered design and product development, she now works at the intersection of digital systems and public policy in international development. Her research and consulting interests span digital governance, innovation, and data systems, with a cross-cutting focus on how path dependency shapes both digital and environmental transitions.
Presenter Maria Reyes Retana is a Junior Data Scientist at DIME. She helps to coordinate the World Bank’s work on reproducible research and provides technical support and training in R, GitHub, and related tools. She has over eight years of experience in data analysis, visualization, and economic modeling, with a focus on gender, poverty, and inequality.
In this webinar, Marina and Maria will introduce you to a brand-new tool from World Bank’s data experts: Impact Evaluation High Frequency Checks (IEHFC). IEHFC is a free, open-source R package designed to make high-frequency checks easy to run, customize, and share—no knowledge of r or coding experience required! IEHFC is designed to provide researchers and field teams with a wide range of high-frequency check templates that they can use in their data collection to get more accurate, complete data for better downstream results.
