Here at Dobility (the makers of SurveyCTO), your privacy is important to us. We have a few fundamental principles:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we need it.
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the ongoing operation of one of our services.

Below is our privacy policy, which incorporates these goals.

WEBSITE VISITORS

Like most website operators, Dobility collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Dobility’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Dobility’s visitors use its Websites. From time to time, Dobility may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its Websites.

Dobility also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged-in users. Dobility only discloses logged-in user IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described above.

Visitors to Websites can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities, including use of Dobility products.

AGGREGATED STATISTICS

Dobility may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its Websites. Dobility may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Dobility does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

PROTECTION OF CERTAIN PERSONALLY-IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

Dobility discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors, service providers and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Dobility’s behalf or to provide services available at the Websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using the Websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Dobility will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliated organizations, as described above, Dobility discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental or legal request, or when Dobility believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Dobility, third parties, or the public at large. Dobility takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

MANAGING YOUR PRIVACY PREFERENCES

Dobility gives you the choice of receiving a variety of information that complements our products and services. You can subscribe to receive certain product- and service-specific information and can also choose to receive general communications from Dobility. This option does not apply to communications primarily for the purpose of administering order completion, contracts, support, product safety warnings, or other administrative and transactional notices where the primary purpose of these communications is not promotional in nature.

You may at any time opt out of receiving messages from Dobility by selecting the “opt out” or “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our emails, or by sending an email to privacy@dobility.com with a subject line of “UNSUBSCRIBE”.

Please be aware that when you opt out of receiving certain subscription communications, it may affect the services you have chosen to receive from Dobility when accepting the communications is a condition of receiving the services (e.g., some services require confirmation of an email address, which requires receipt of a confirmation email).

KEEPING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURE

To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, to maintain data accuracy, and to ensure the appropriate use of the information, Dobility utilizes appropriate physical, technical, and administrative procedures to safeguard the information we collect and process. Dobility retains data only as required or permitted by international, national, and local laws and while it has a legitimate business purpose.

When collecting or transferring sensitive information, we use a variety of additional security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. The personal information you provide us is stored on computer systems located in controlled facilities that have limited access. When we transmit highly confidential information (such as a credit card number or password) over the Internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

INTEGRATIONS WITH GOOGLE AND OTHER OUTSIDE SYSTEMS

Dobility’s products, like SurveyCTO, often involve the collection and use of data, and Dobility aspires to make it easy to integrate its products with other cloud-based products. For example, in SurveyCTO, there are options to publish collected data into Zapier, Google Sheets, Google Fusion Tables, or other outside systems. This requires that Dobility products, using open standards and explicit authorization from users, access outside systems and documents in these outside systems. In general, Dobility does not use access to these outside systems in any way other than those specifically directed by users. In particular, Dobility does not access, store, or utilize users’ data from outside systems except to the extent directed by the user and necessary to deliver the services configured by the user.

For example, SurveyCTO users are given the option to publish incoming data to Google Sheets or Google Fusion Tables, which requires that users login with their Google accounts and specifically authorize SurveyCTO to access Google Sheets and/or Fusion Table documents. In order to publish incoming data, SurveyCTO, through its Google Service Account, writes to those documents selected by the user, based on the user’s authorization. Dobility does not store any Google profile information and does not access or store data except to the extent necessary to deliver services as configured by the user. Once data is published into Google documents, that data then becomes governed by Google’s privacy policy.

COOKIES

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Dobility uses cookies to help Dobility identify and track visitors, their usage of the Websites, and their website access preferences. Dobility visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using Dobility’s websites, with the drawback that certain features of the Websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

BUSINESS TRANSFERS

If Dobility, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Dobility goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Dobility may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.

PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Dobility may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Dobility’s sole discretion. Dobility encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy, but Dobility will also email current subscribers to alert them of any substantive changes within two weeks of those changes. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
