SurveyCTO Webinar Series: Innovative Research on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)

We are continuing to highlight innovative academic research from the researchers we awarded grants to in 2021. In this webinar, we hear from Isabelle Salcher (PhD candidate at New York University) and Muhammad Zia Mehmood (PhD candidate at the University of California, Berkeley). They both present their research projects which focus on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and their role in international development.

Isabelle’s project is titled “Microentrepreneurs and Gendered Opportunity Costs of Time.” In this study, she focuses on how opportunity costs of time differ by gender and how that affects women microentrepreneurs.

Zia’s project is titled “Training with Technology – Lessons from a field experiment with Kenyan MSMEs.” He focuses on how SMS-based training and technology affect business performance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kenya.
